Have

3Leaf Audio Wonderlove - Deluxe Envelope Filter (first version)

  • 9.5
  • Positive: you can dial in the sound you want very exactly, and you can even put in a little boost when engaging in case there is a drop in signal.
  • Negative: you can use an expression pedal with it and there is an effects loop. they have an updated version now with even more features.

Alexander Pedals F.13 Flanger (also does a great chorus sound)

  • 10
  • Positive: this thing is so weird. i was looking to get an old flanger right when this came out. the dynamic flange is crazy. i really like the
  • Negative: manual flange too. put it in sweep, turn the rate to zero and then sweep through the depth to find your sweet spot. this thing also

Boomerang E-156 Rang III Phrase Sampler

  • 10
  • Positive: this thing is amazing. easy to use and control with your feet. took my playing to the next level. great tool for creating jams quickly...
  • Negative: takes some time getting used to the buttons, can't fit it on my board anymore, so it hangs out in front.

Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner

  • 9.5
  • Positive: never had any issues, i love it
  • Negative: it will never die and i'll never be able to upgrade to the tu3

Crowther Audio Prunes & Custard - Harmonix Generator-Intermodulator

  • 9
  • Positive: does a bad ass synth type thing with the mix and drive set high. can sound like an electric piano or some weird keyboard if you palm mute..
  • Negative: watch the level, you have to back it off as the drive increases, or you will get blown away.

Diamond Tremolo

  • 10
  • Positive: excellent tremolo sounds, very easy to use, knobs easy to control with feet, i love the waveform selector switch, you just keep cycling thru
  • Negative: i like tap tempo, but i don't really use it much, because the speed knob works so well, but i like switching between two speeds sometimes..

DOD 240 Resistance Mixer

  • 8
  • Positive: i think this little box is neat. i use it to have multiple inputs to my pedal board. guitar, bass, drum machine, keyboard. it works great
  • Negative: it's passive and it's a bit quirky. sometimes it doesn't seem to matter if the knobs are turned up or down, the sound still comes through.

DOD Meatbox Subsynth (reissue)

  • 10
  • Positive: really beefs up the low end. use through a good bass amp into a 15" or 18" speaker for best results. Warning: watch out at the highest
  • Negative: settings not to blow your speakers. Turn octave all the way down, output at noon, sub and low at 3/4 full and then gradually increase the

Electro-Harmonix POG2 Polyphonic Octave Generator

  • 10
  • Positive: This box has the best one octave down sound/tracking to make a guitar sound like a bass, period. Plus a second octave down!
  • Negative: The box is kind of big. It'd be neat if EHX made a pog3 by combining the pog with the micro synth somehow! I don't use the presets much...

Electro-Harmonix XO C9 Organ Machine

  • 6
  • Positive: had the b9, so i had to get the c9. now i probably have to get the key9. can the d9 be all about synths please? the mello flutes rocked.
  • Negative: kinda the same as the b9, i enjoy the novelty, but just don't use it very often. makes me appreciate regular guitar sounds again though!

Empress Effects ParaEq w/ Boost

  • 10
  • Positive: fantastic parametric eq, really great sound, 30 db boost, i leave it on all the time, and sometimes boost treble or cut mids.
  • Negative: can't use the boost without turning on the eq, although this has been fixed in later versions.

Fulltone Mini Deja' Vibe (black MDV-1)

  • 8.5
  • Positive: beats the depths and the micro vibe, sounds great. modern/vintage switch handy to select brighter or darker tone. plus vibe/chorus
  • Negative: a little bit bigger in terms of pedal board space than the other vibe clones but this one is the real deal. very well made with 18 volts.

Jim Dunlop Cry Baby CBM-95 Mini Wah Wah

  • 9
  • Positive: i've had a few morley wahs but never liked them much, and they were so bulky. when dunlop came out with this mini wah i was all over it.

Jim Dunlop DVP-3 Volume (X)

  • 6
  • Positive: i got it to use as an expression pedal, but i've ended up using it mostly as a volume pedal, after the wah and before the double muff.
  • Negative: grip pad already starting to peel up in one corner, volume sweep seems like it could be smoother, as if it all happens in the final inch

Malekko B:ASSMASTER (germanium)

  • 10
  • Positive: you can mix the clean and the fuzz independently. i love this pedal. it works well as a clean boost, dirty boost, straight fuzz, bass fuzz
  • Negative: sounds different sometimes depending on the temperature, but i see this as more interesting than negative.

Malekko Scrutator - Sample Rate Reducer

  • 8
  • Positive: always wanted a bit crusher. this thing is neat. it's got the nintendo sounds of my childhood, and more. can do wicked fuzzes too.

Mattoverse Electronics Warble Swell Delay

  • 10
  • Positive: This little box is beautifully small and simple, very well designed and executed by Matt Olson of Mattoverse Electronics in Wisconsin.
  • Negative: The middle switch turns it on, the left switch activates a warble, the right switch is soft touch and as long as you hold it down the echoes

Maxz Vintage Delay (2)

  • 8.5
  • Positive: Great delay. Mine has a three way switch for dark/tape/analog. In my mind those are all the same sound and in using it I can't tell much
  • Negative: of a difference. But it sounds good regardless. Also has an effects loop which only effects the repeats. Add a chorus or a flanger or a

Moog Minifooger Ring

  • 6
  • Positive: i picked this up for the hell of it. it makes the most interesting bell and chime tones. not sure what to use it for but i love the sound.

Mu-FX (by Mike Beigel) Tru-Tron 3X

  • 10
  • Positive: Beautiful design, wonderful sound, very adaptable to different styles, plays well with fuzzes in front of it, super funk-a-licious and sweet
  • Negative: Although significantly smaller than the original, it still takes up a lot of space. Needs a dedicated power supply.

Sitori Sonics Brownies and Cream

  • 8.5
  • Positive: great pedal, love the build quality and the name, the sound encouraged me to crank it and thrash

Sitori Sonics Harem Fuzz

  • 9
  • Positive: got this used off ebay, sitori sonics is currently off the map. great pedal, well built, sounds excellent. i believe it's basically a big
  • Negative: muff with some changes to the tone control. have previously tried NYC big muffs and the bass big muff and i like this one much better.

Sitori Sonics Reel Repeat

  • 10
  • Positive: As you spin the knobs the sound warps in pitch and it is very musical and fun to play with...
  • Negative: the company doesn't seem to exist anymore so they are hard to find, which is too bad because i would like to try the rest of their lineup...

SoundBrut DrVa - Overdrive + MOSFET Boost

  • 10
  • Positive: Got this because I needed a drive/boost pedal. Have had plenty of drive pedals in the past but whenever you throw boost in the mix you have
  • Negative: to expect some extra noise. This pedal is nice and quiet but has an incredible amount of boost on hand. Step through the varitone choices

Had

BBE BG-20 Boosta Grande

  • 5
  • Positive: great clean boost, had it for years, no problems
  • Negative: dropped it in favor of the empress paraeq which has more boost

Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble

  • 1.5
  • Positive: sounded fine
  • Negative: i just realized i didn't like chorus that much

Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer

  • 4.5
  • Positive: the most busted up used pedal i've ever seen, still worked fine though. compression just doesn't make enough of an impression on me for me
  • Negative: to keep it in the chain. i understand that it makes loud things quieter and quieter things louder somehow, i guess it just doesn't fit with

Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz

  • 4
  • Positive: actually i liked this thing most as a slightly gritty preamp
  • Negative: the fuzzes weren't for me in the end, but it was fun while it lasted

Boss GE-7 Equalizer

  • 7
  • Positive: very easy to use and dial in, and to see what you're hearing represented visually
  • Negative: this lost out to the empress para eq which had way more fine tuning abilities

Boss LS-2 Line Selector

  • 9.5
  • Positive: this has so many options, i got rid of it way too soon, i should have kept it always for experimenting with different loops and setups

Boss ODB-3 Bass OverDrive

  • 7
  • Positive: not bad, i always check out bass pedals even though i'm a guitar player because i want things that will work well with the pog2 and have
  • Negative: capabilities in the lower octaves. but i ended up passing this on to a real bass player.

Boss PS-5 Super Shifter

  • 7
  • Positive: lots of options. seemed really neat at the time.
  • Negative: didn't end up using it that much.

Cusack Tap-A-Whirl (v3)

  • 8
  • Positive: this thing was really great. so many features packed into such a small box, it's kind of ridiculous. these guys are ahead of the curve.
  • Negative: so many knobs in such a tight spot it's hard to turn just one with a foot. so many waveforms it would take many moons to use them all

Danelectro DTE-1 Reel Echo

  • 6
  • Positive: weird pedal, way too big, but great slider, and the sound on sound aspect was really neat. you can record and then slide it around and
  • Negative: glitch it out, and then return to where it was and it's like you never left! i should have kept it. but it took up too much space.

DOD FX96 Echo FX Analog Delay (first version 1997)

  • 10
  • Positive: excellent. useful controls. oscillation can be played like an instrument. got it used from guitar center for sixty bucks. plays well
  • Negative: with my other delay. missing one knob. probably the most beat up looking pedal i've ever owned, but it still works perfectly.

EarthQuaker Devices Arpanoid - Polyphonic Pitch Arpeggiator

  • 3
  • Positive: an interesting and unique pedal, i just didn't use it enough to necessitate keeping it on the board
  • Negative: it's not easy to control where the arpeggio starts and stops, the random modes seem to be the most fun. really this pedal just made me want

EarthQuaker Devices Bit Commander

  • 7
  • Positive: this thing was a beast. the sub and the down 1 were both excellent. i would have liked more control over the base tone, maybe to make it
  • Negative: more square than it was, or more fuzzed. definitely a great sound coming out, i just didn't end up keeping it in rotation. kinda miss it

EarthQuaker Devices The Depths - Optical Vibe Machine

  • 7
  • Positive: this box really changes the basic sound of my guitar in a great way that makes it seem like a different guitar. the voice knob is cool.
  • Negative: on the strengths of this pedal i went earthquaker crazy and got the arpanoid and the bit commander. great company

Electro-Harmonix Memory Boy - Analog Delay

  • 6
  • Positive: great pedal, i should have kept it, but sometimes i just pass them on to the next person. i preferred my reel repeat over this one at the
  • Negative: time for ease of use, but the selectable modulation is a neat idea.

Electro-Harmonix Nano Double Muff

  • 7.5
  • Positive: near the front of chain, makes a great boost, very responsive and amp like overdrive/distortion, cleans up when you turn down the volume...
  • Negative: why not a triple muff, or a quad muff, or a penta muff? i think ehx would know the world can't get enough muff. Nuff Muff. It goes to 11.

Electro-Harmonix Nano Pitch Fork - Polyphonic Pitch Shifter

  • 5
  • Positive: i got this thinking it would be a great replacement for the pog2, and so much smaller, but it couldn't hold a candle to it. the sound is
  • Negative: completely digital and different sounding. there are some neat interval things it can do, and an exp pedal helps, but i didn't have much

Electro-Harmonix Octave Multiplexer

  • 7
  • Positive: one of my first pedals, it had a great sound. this was before the pog came out with better tracking and algorithms.
  • Negative: should have kept it! funky and synthy sounding.

Electro-Harmonix POG Polyphonic Octave Generator

  • 7
  • Positive: incredible tracking. the original. this thing gives the guitarist the power of the bass. a power they should not ever wield, probably.
  • Negative: couple of sliders broke off. dropped this for the pog2.

Electro-Harmonix XO B9 Organ Machine

  • 6
  • Positive: neat sounds, just like an organ. almost too much.
  • Negative: would like more control over the attack and sustain somehow, maybe with an exp pedal or something. ground-breaking stuff though.

Electro-Harmonix XO Bass Big Muff Pi

  • 6
  • Positive: pretty neat i guess, i used it on guitar, and for when i put the guitar down an octave through the pog2, to get the bass distortion
  • Negative: underwhelmed by the sound. or maybe overwhelmed. i don't know.

Electro-Harmonix XO Holy Stain

  • 6
  • Positive: this had some interesting sounds, and is a neat concept, but like a lot of ehx pedals, it's just way too big for what it does. i ended up
  • Negative: not using it that much. the worst thing about a lot of multi effects is that you can only use one at a time. i always want the option of

Guyatone GST-U05 Ultron Optical Auto Wah

  • 3
  • Positive: this thing was neat, but too much like a flight deck control system. i needed more simplicity of design.
  • Negative: i should have kept this as it seems to be rare, but i just didn't use it at all. i tried, but it was just too weird.

Line 6 DL-4 Delay Modeler - Programmable Delay & 14 Second Loop Sampler

  • 6
  • Positive: this thing was great for me as a practice and performance tool for many years. i never used the delay models much because i was always
  • Negative: using the looper though. eventually upgraded to the boomerang III so that i could have different loops going at the same time.

Moog Moogerfooger MF-105B Bass MuRF

  • 4
  • Positive: i'm sure this thing was cool as all hell but i had no idea what to do with it so i passed it on. great design and feel though. MURF it up.

Morley Pro Series PBA Bass Wah

  • 4
  • Negative: box way too big, wah springs back to heel position when you step off it

MXR M-103 Blue Box (script reissue)

  • 7.5
  • Positive: nothing compares 2 u, blue box. your sound is fat and thick and down low and glitchy in all the right ways. fool in the rain solo best eva
  • Negative: not enough control over the sound or the tracking. would be nice to have a switch or a level for just one octave down. must slam output...

MXR/CAE MC-402 Boost/Overdrive

  • 5.5
  • Positive: built so well, looks so damn cool, boost and overdrive in one
  • Negative: didn't like the overdrive

Pigtronix EP-1 Envelope Phaser

  • 9.5
  • Positive: super funky and really neat features, ended up getting rid of it when i got the ep 2 though.
  • Negative: box was pretty large and oddly shaped

Pigtronix EP-2 Envelope Phaser

  • 8.5
  • Positive: enjoyed being able to use the envelope and phaser at the same time, really great sound, but ended up getting rid of it and getting the 3leaf
  • Negative: put some masking tape on it once and when i took it off the paint came off too. oh well

TC Electronic Flashback Delay and Looper

  • 5.5
  • Positive: a lot of things in this little box. i mainly messed with the super long 2290, the reverse, and the looper, just to use as an ambient noise
  • Negative: loop kind of thing which was fun. i ended up passing this one on to the next person because i didn't like the sound or rather the lack of

Visual Sound Route 66 - American Overdrive

  • 5
  • Positive: one of the first pedals i ever got. indestructible.
  • Negative: didn't have much use for the compression side, and got more into fuzzes than overdrives.

Voodoo Lab Micro Vibe

  • 8.5
  • Positive: this thing was magical, it really made your head spin around the room, but i got rid of it cause i'm a dum dum.
  • Negative: would have liked to a/b this against the depths
eXTReMe Tracker
