Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner

  • 9
  • Positive: chromatic tuner for guitar and bass

Ibanez FZ7 Fuzz

  • Positive: abrasive modern fuzz with an almost octave up with damage switch engaged.
  • Negative: too much fuzz past 12 o clock on the gain knob

Ibanez SM7 Smashbox

  • 8
  • Positive: A really good metal/punk/industrial rock distortion with built-in noise gate.

Had

BBE AM64 American Metal (n/a)

  • 9
  • Positive: A discontinued(but cheap on the used market) good sounding distortion box. Kind of DS-1 ish distortion but with more "meat".

Boss DS-1 Distortion (1984 MIJ + 2008 MIT)

  • 8
  • Positive: Good all around workhorse distortion.
  • Negative: Can be kind of spikey or shrill with single coil pickups.

Boss NF-1 Noise Gate

  • 8
  • Positive: a highly underrated noise gate with a sensitive decay control.
  • Negative: decay knob can be rather sensitive making setting the decay kind of difficult

Coffin Case BDFX-1 Blood Drive

  • 8
  • Positive: a good dirt pedal with a gain spread from bluesy crunch to high gain OD bordering on distortion.
  • Negative: Works better with el-34 & el-84 powered amps.

DigiTech DHH Hot Head Distortion

  • 8
  • Positive: a Marshall style distortion alternative to the Boss DS-1.
  • Negative: sucks down batteries rather quickly.

DigiTech XDD DigiDelay Digital Delay

  • 8
  • Positive: a decent digital delay with a nice tape delay simulation
  • Negative: reverse and looper modes are kinda useless

Electro-Harmonix Neo Clone

  • 8.5
  • Positive: Just a smaller more board friendly version of the legendary Small Clone Chorus pedal
  • Negative: Would rather have a dedicated depth knob than the 2 position switch.

Joyo JF-12 Ultimate Octave (Voodoo Octave)

  • 7.5
  • Positive: thick fuzz and octave up effects. octave up engages from second footswitch.
  • Negative: octave needs to be more prominent.

Line 6 DL-4 Delay Modeler - Programmable Delay & 14 Second Loop Sampler

  • 9
  • Positive: An awesome delay that can cover a lot of needs in one pedal.
  • Negative: I wish the loop time was longer and that the looper had its own dedicated footswitch.

Line 6 DM-4 Distortion Modeler - Programmable Overdrive & Distortion

  • 8
  • Positive: A really good sounding Swiss army knife distortion box! Lots of useable tones + 4 presets to save your favorite overdrive and distortions.
  • Negative: not for people looking for exact, spot on recreations of all the pedals modeled or analog purists.

Line 6 Dr. Distorto

  • 8
  • Positive: Great flexible distortion with a built-in noise gate! tone knob doesn't change the tone so much as to change the character of the distortion
  • Negative: feedback part of the pedal is not something I ever see using all too often.

Line 6 M-5 Stompbox Modeler

  • 9
  • Positive: All of the effects from All of the stompbox modelers .
  • Negative: You can only use one effect at a time.

Mooer Audio MDL3 Echolizer

MXR M-173 Classic 108 Fuzz

  • 8
  • Positive: A good Silicone Fuzz Face in a pedalboard friendly box
  • Negative: can be a little wooly with humbuckers. use the buffer switch to brighten up the fuzz when using humbuckers.

MXR M-193 GT-OD Overdrive

  • 8
  • Positive: A good Tubescreamer type of overdrive with a fair amount of gain! can be used as a boost or as a stand alone overdrive.

MXR ZW-44 Zakk Wylde Overdrive (1)

  • 9
  • Positive: A good muscular overdrive in the Marshall vein.
