  • Positive: Easy to use & sounds great. Variety of simulated cabs, speakers & mic position are plentiful.
  • Negative: Lacking a balanced out to go direct in a live situation. No volume control for the headphone out can be annoying.

Boss AC-3 Acoustic Simulator

  • Positive: Useful for acoustic tones out of an electric.

Boss CS-3 Compression Sustainer

  • 6
  • Positive: Excellent mid range compressor with many options Great box to learn about compression.
  • Negative: A bit noisy

Boss FBM-1 Fender '59 Bassman

  • 4.5
  • Positive: Fenders up a clean or solid state amp.
  • Negative: Useless with a dirty channel & can be difficult with some amps & guitars

Boss GE-7 Equalizer (Late 80s)

  • 7.5
  • Positive: Has been in my chain for decades. Solid tone shaping & boost. Useful anywhere in the path
  • Negative: A little draining while off but not enough to stop me from using

Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor

  • Positive: Decent gate & very useful loop

Boss OC-3 Super Octave

  • 9.5
  • Positive: Very versatile & useful octave pedal. One of the only that can handle chords

Budda Budwah (Mid 90s pre-Peavy)

  • Positive: Great dynamic range & built great, except....
  • Negative: Top rubber foot mat fell off within the 1st year of use

  • Positive: The switchable 9v-12v & 9v-18v is a great option than no other supply has without a $300+ price tag
  • Negative: It's only missing a 15v option but that's a minor issue.

  • Positive: Inexpensive good sounding basic 2 knob chorus.
  • Negative: It's inexpensive for a reason. Plastic & fragile but more durable than many cheap Pedals.

EarthQuaker Devices Organizer (V2)

  • Positive: Great little synth with 2 octaves up & down. Choir setting is surprisingly awesome.
  • Negative: Doesn't run on a battery & power supply not included nor was i told one was needed when I purchased, thanks GC 😕

  • Positive: A mainstay in my chain for yrs. Easy to use & great sounding ring modulator.
  • Negative: Needs unique power supply that appears to be very difficult to find.

  • Positive: Good sounding delay & plate reverb. The rocker opens up a new interesting dynamic in a live performance.
  • Negative: No way to turn off effect without turning all knobs down nullifying their main marketing pitch.

SubDecay Variac Overdrive (Black with lightning bolt)

  • Positive: Sounds better with lower voltage & lower output pickups. Good for the JTM sound.
  • Negative: Gain muds up with higher output pickups & sounds brittle at anything greater than 9 volts. Doesn't get the high gain stuff great.
