Boss DS-1 Distortion

  • Positive: Great for learning to mod?? With that said, I haven't liked any mods I've done enough to stop modding it. Good experience nonetheless.
  • Negative: I find it just sounds like its adding noise on top of my tone and it's not even a noise that I remotely like. Not for me.

Boss RC-3 Loop Station

  • 6
  • Positive: Great for long loops, particularly layered vocals. I love that I can save loops to it.
  • Negative: The loops volume dips when your dry signal gets loud. It gets worse as everything gets louder which is why I mostly use this for vocals.

Death By Audio Reverberation Machine

  • 6.5
  • Positive: Great design and I love the concept. I really like both reverbs and the unique sounds I get by pushing them over 100%.
  • Negative: It adds a lot of unwanted noise. I don't love the breakup I get from it. I find it just adds some dirt that drops in and out abruptly.

Line 6 DL-4 Delay Modeler - Programmable Delay & 14 Second Loop Sampler

  • 7.5
  • Positive: The loop/sampler is so easy to use and really lends itself to experimentation. I probably use it more than anything else I've owned.
  • Negative: I honestly don't use anything besides the loop/sampler. I don't use delay that much regardless though.

EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath - Otherworldly Reverberation Machine

  • 6.5
  • Positive: I love that this is almost like dissecting a reverb. Its a great pedal to experiment with, particularly on bass and in ambient loops.
  • Negative: The sound of the reverb itself is just too bright and shimmery for me. I've also never understood the point of the dampen control.
